Big news at DWA Law—our very own Allen Wynperle has been named the new Chair of the Federation of Ontario Law Associations (FOLA).

If you’ve ever worked with Allen, you know he’s not just a lawyer. He’s an advocate, a mentor, and a leader who genuinely cares about the people he serves—whether they’re clients looking for justice or fellow legal professionals working to make the system better.

Congratulations to Justice Rasim “Sam” Misheal

We want to take a moment to congratulate Rasim “Sam” Misheal on his appointment as a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario, Family Court, in Welland. Stepping into a judicial role is no small feat, and it’s a well-earned recognition of his dedication to the law and to the people it serves. Sam has been an incredible leader at FOLA, always pushing to strengthen Ontario’s legal community. We have no doubt he’ll bring the same fairness, wisdom, and commitment to justice to the bench.

A Career Built on Advocacy and Leadership

Allen’s journey in law started in 1994, and over the last 30 years, he’s been fighting for people who need it most. Personal injury law isn’t just about cases—it’s about people who’ve had their lives turned upside down. Allen has dedicated his career to helping them rebuild, first by founding Wynperle Law in 2002 and then co-founding DWA Law in 2024.

But his impact goes beyond the courtroom. He’s always been deeply involved in shaping the legal profession itself. His leadership roles include:

  • Past President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association
  • Past President of the Hamilton Law Association
  • Founding Chair of the Hamilton Chapter of the Canadian Paraplegic Association
  • Committee Chair of FOLA’s Practice Resource Centre

Now, as Chair of FOLA, he’ll be working to make sure Ontario’s legal professionals have the resources, advocacy, and support they need to serve their clients effectively.

Why This Matters

FOLA isn’t just another legal organization. It represents 46 county and district law associations across Ontario, many of which are made up of sole practitioners and small firms. These are the lawyers who keep justice accessible for everyday people, and they need a strong voice fighting for them.

That’s where Allen comes in. As Chair, he’ll be leading efforts to:

  • Advocate for policies that make legal services more accessible
  • Support local law associations and the lawyers who rely on them
  • Ensure lawyers have the tools they need to serve their clients better

What’s Next?

If there’s one thing we know about Allen, it’s that he leads with passion, integrity, and a deep commitment to justice. Whether he’s helping an injured client get the compensation they deserve or pushing for changes that make Ontario’s legal system stronger, he’s always focused on doing what’s right.

We couldn’t be prouder to have him representing FOLA and the legal community at large.

Congratulations, Allen!
